There are some great October events in Annapolis to celebrate Halloween and the fall season! Part of experiencing the Annapolis lifestyle is being able to enjoy a variety of different local events each season. I wanted to share a few fun events to enjoy all that Annapolis has to offer this month.
Schooner Race Watch Cruise
First, join the excitement at the start of the “Annual Great Chesapeake Bay Schooner Race” aboard the Schooner Woodwind II. Enjoy the incredible sight of up to 25 schooners, some of them being 100 feet tall, as they take off racing toward Norfolk! (October 17)
Friends of The Light House Pumpkin Patch
Then, bring the kids and stop by the Pumpkin Patch at St. Martin’s Lutheran Church on Spa Road from October 13-31. Your family can pick the perfect pumpkins to decorate your home. And, you’ll also be helping those who are homeless since proceeds benefit the Light House, a homeless prevention support center in Annapolis. (October 12-31, or while supplies last)
Halloween on the Avenue
Discover the unique shops and stores along Maryland Avenue and State Circle at the annual “Halloween on the Avenue Fall Festival”. Bring your dog in costume to the Halloween Pup Parade! Enjoy the food, vendors, and entertainment, with the backdrop of the State Capitol dome. (October 20)
Art @ the Park
Art @ the Park combines a few of my favorite things about Annapolis. You’ll get to enjoy Quiet Waters Park, the water, and the creativity of my fellow Annapolitans. There, you can spend the day outdoors enjoying original artwork from local exhibitors, while taking in performances, art demonstrations, activities, specialty food, wine and beer. And, pick up a new favorite artistic treasure for your home while you’re there!
So, if you’d like a few more insider tips about local events in the fall, please contact me. And, I hope you and your family make time to get outside and enjoy Annapolis this season!
