I was so excited to visit my friend Karen Britton at her gallery, Mylo Studios.
A lifelong artist, Karen had drifted away from the business of art but kept creating. When she moved back to Annapolis and found studio space in the old opera house building, she knew she’d found a special place to share her work with others.
Karen creates traditional canvas pieces and also repurposes objects like mirrors, as seen in the piece above.
She also takes inspiration from our amazing town and features boats as a recurring theme.
Mylo Studios is a true place of artistic creation, from the “opera ghosts” of the building to the tools of a painter’s trade.
Check out our conversation in this month’s episode of Moving Forward with Rachel.
And don’t forget to visit Karen at Mylo Studios during Midnight Madness on December 1st, 8th, and 15th, and the Mylo Studios Grand Opening on Saturday, December 3rd, 4pm – until!
Tell her I sent you!
