Hi! This is Rachel Frentsos with the Annapolis Fine Homes Office of Long & Foster. This is Moving Forward with Rachel. In the past I’ve interviewed some local business owners, but this month I’d really like to draw attention to a charity that is near and dear to my heart, which is the Anne Arundel County CASA. CASA stands for Court Appointed Special Advocates.
I sit on the Board of CASA. The whole purpose and mission of what they do is to support children who are in the foster care system. So, one CASA who is a volunteer is assigned to a child, and is the one constant in that child’s life, until they are placed in a safe and supportive environment.
What is so great about them is that the child has advocacy through the schools, through the courts, and through the foster care homes. It’s such an important mission and I just want to make sure that all of you know about it.
CASA has been around in Anne Arundel County for over 20 years and I only learned about it 5 years ago. My mission right now is to educate everyone on this incredible charity right in our town, in Annapolis.
Please visit AACASA.org. If you could do anything, just educate yourself on what they do. Of course, donations are wonderful. If you can volunteer your time, that would be amazing as well.
CASA actually has a Gala coming up November 2 of this year, where you can come to support the organization and participate in the silent auction. It’s black tie! It’s amazing! And, it supports Anne Arundel County CASA.
Thank you so much for tuning in and I look forward to seeing you for the next edition of Moving Forward with Rachel next month!
