One of the things that I love about living in Annapolis is the variety of local events to enjoy! September is a great month to get out and experience some of these fun activities. So, I wanted to share a few fun ideas for getting out to enjoy all that Annapolis has to offer this month.
Anne Arundel County Fair
First, there’s something about a county fair that brings back memories of the good old days! And, the Anne Arundel County Fair is sure to do that! You can visit booths featuring homemade wine, home-brewed beer, and locally made arts and crafts. Plus, your whole family will love the amusement rides, shows, and the 4-H Club animals and exhibits. September 11-15, 2019.
Boatyard Beach Bash
Get ready for a star-studded line up at the annual Boatyard Beach Bash at the Annapolis Maritime Museum. This year, original members of Jimmy Buffet’s Coral Reefers band will be performing on the waterfront stage, along with other world-class musicians. A delicious buffet dinner and, of course cocktails, will be served. Also, proceeds benefit the Annapolis Maritime Museum’s children’s education efforts. September 14, 2019.
Annapolis Run for The Light House
This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Annapolis Run for the Light House! Every year, Friends of the Light House organizes this 5K, half marathon and 1.25 mile donut dash at Quiet Waters Park. And, proceeds from the event benefit the Light House: Homeless Prevention Support Center in Annapolis. September 22, 2019.
Fall Fest at Market Space
Then, celebrate the beautiful September weather block party-style in Historic Downtown Annapolis. Market Space will be closed off with bands playing all day! Great food and drink specials will be offered by Annapolis Market House, Middleton Tavern, McGarvey’s Saloon and Oyster Bar and Federal House Bar & Grille. What better way to celebrate with friends on a Sunday afternoon! September 22, 2019.
Twist & Stout Wine Festival
Enjoy fine wine and craft beer at the The Twist & Stout Wine Festival! Listen to live music from bands around the region. Sample tastings from a variety of food truck vendors. Also, watch local artists create art on-site during the event. Quiet Waters Park is the perfect outdoor backdrop to spend an afternoon enjoying the park. September 28, 2019.
Oktoberfest West Annapolis
German food, live Om-pa-pa music, and local vendors will be featured at the West Annapolis Oktoberfest. Plus, this two-block long street party even includes a children’s festival at West Annapolis Elementary School. Make plans to come out and enjoy some delicious Oktoberfest food and beer to start off the fall season. September 29, 2019.
