One of the reasons that I love living in Annapolis is experiencing the changing of the seasons. Autumn in Annapolis allows us to enjoy the cooler temperatures before the winter turns cold. For me, part of the Annapolis lifestyle is being able to enjoy the outdoors in many different ways each season. I wanted to share a few fun ideas for getting outside and enjoying all that Annapolis has to offer this Autumn.
First Sunday Arts Festival
On the first Sunday of October and November, head down to West Street in Annapolis from 12pm to 5pm. There, you can stroll and shop from some of Annapolis’ favorite handcrafters and vendors. Don’t miss By the Bay Creations. If you’re ready to start your holiday shopping, she has the most adorable mini driftwood boat ornaments.
Friends of The Light House Pumpkin Patch
Looking of the perfect pumpkin? Bring the kids and stop by the Pumpkin Patch at St. Martin’s Lutheran Church on Spa Road from October 13-31. Your family can pick the perfect pumpkin to decorate your home. And, you’ll also be helping those who are homeless since proceeds benefit the Light House, a homeless prevention support center in Annapolis.
Historic Hauntings Tours with Watermark
During October, check out a Special Historic Hauntings Ghost Tour! The Annapolis ghost walk tour gets even spookier, when you get to go inside historic homes at night. Don’t miss this frightfully fun time, if you dare!
Harvest Hootenanny
Your little ones will love the live farm animals, harvest-themed crafts, and live music at the Harvest Hootenanny! And, you’ll love supporting the mission of Chesapeake Children’s Museum! Mark your calendar for Saturday, October 20 from 10am to 2pm at 25 Silopanna Rd. (That’s Annapolis spelled backwards!)
Art @ the Park
Another fun event in Annapolis is coming up on October 20 and 21. Art @ the Park combines a few of my favorite things about Annapolis. You’ll get to enjoy Quiet Waters Park, the water, and the creativity of my fellow Annapolitans. There, you can spend the day outdoors enjoying original artwork from over 70 exhibitors, while taking in performances, art demonstrations, activities, specialty food, wine and beer. Maybe you’ll even pick up your new favorite artistic treasure to decorate your home!
